Our Key Stage 1 team (five boys and five girls) competed in a rocket fuel version of cricket at Tipton Sports Academy.
A total of 12 schools took part in the event. Winning six games and losing only one, we managed to finish in third place gaining a certificate and medal for each pupil.

Our Year 5 Dodgeball team played at a Sports Games Festival.
They displayed excellent sportsmanship and competed in a team of five. They played four friendly matches throughout the afternoon.

The KS2 Cross Country team performed fantastically well yesterday.
Over 15 schools were present with close to 500 children participating during the event. Each race involved at least 50 children and a modified route was taken to increase the difficulty and distance as we progressed through the year groups.
Of the 40 children selected from our school five received medals on the day. Michael (Gold), Cayson (Silver), Roman (Bronze), Millie H (Gold), and Jessica (Silver).
Above is a picture of our children during the presentation ceremony. Due to the finishing positions of our Year 3 and 4 boys we also gained a certificate for first place overall in that category.

Our Years 3 and 4 football team competed in a football festival at West Bromwich Albion’s training ground.
They played four 7-a-side games against other local primary schools.
The team played really well and they won three out of the four games! Results: lost 2-1. Won 2-0. Won 4-0. Won 11-0.

The Year 5/6 boys football team were very unlucky to lose 1-0 against Grove Vale Primary School.
This was the team's first fixture of a new season and some boys first experience of a 7-a-side game.

Ten Year 5 and 6 children competed in a Tag Rugby competition this afternoon.
After winning three games and drawing one we qualified in first place to play against the winners of the remaining two groups. We then went on to draw one and lose one which resulted in a 3rd place finish overall, out of a total 11 schools.
Each child was awarded with a bronze medal and certificate.

Five girls and five boys attended the KS1 Multi skills competition at Tipton Sports Academy.
Competing against 17 local schools each child attempted a bean bag relay, speed bounce jumps, ball rebound challenge, target throw, and one leg balance.
We managed to finish in 12th place, gaining valuable experience of competitive competitions while enjoying each physical challenge.

Our team of six boys from Years 3 and 4 competed against twelve other schools to come first in the multi skills competition.
The team have now been entered into the Black Country Games Final in the summer.

A team of nine children from Years 3 and 4 competed in a cricket competition, at Tipton Sports Academy this week.
The standard of cricket was very high with Staffordshire cricket representatives present to, officiate and talent spot potential individuals.
Well done to our team who completed five fixtures against different schools throughout the day, with everyone fully enjoying the competitive challenge.

The Year 5 and 6 girls football team competed in the School Games Football tournament held at the West Bromwich Albion Dome.
Out of six schools, the team finished in fourth place in their group.
A total of six points was awarded to the girls as a result of one win, one defeat, and three draws.

Year 5 and 6 pupils competed in a 6-a-side football tournament, held at West Bromwich Albion's Training Dome.
The group was divided into two teams - a Year 6 team and a Year 5 team.
Each squad played five games against other schools and aimed to qualify in first or second place. Year 6 team finished in fifth place with three draws and two defeats. Year 5 team finished in second place with one win, two draws, and one defeat.
Thank you to both Year 5 and 6 who represented the school well and enjoyed competing in a challenging tournament.
A big 'well done' to Year 5 who managed to qualify in second place, narrowly losing in the quarter finals to the eventual finalists.

As a school we were proud to take part in National Fitness Day and we all took part in a range of exercises to get us moving.
Mr Westwood co-ordinated the event and we all enjoyed it!

We were entered into a Year 5 and 6 Tag Rugby competition at Warley Rugby Club.
There were 12 schools there and we were put into a group of four. We made it to the final and in the final we came up against Abbey Junior and unfortunately lost the game 5-2, meaning we finished runners up in the tournament.
Overall the children really enjoyed the competition showing great team work and it was a great opportunity for the children to showcase their skills.

Children from Years 5 and 6 joined seven local schools to compete in the School Games Gala.
The children each took part in their individual race and competed in a boys and girls relay. Overall the girls finish 7th place and the boys finished in 5th place.
For some of the children it was the first time representing the school this year. Well done all.

What a wonderful experience.
There were 18 teams in the competition. We narrowly lost the first game 1–0. We won our second and third game with goals scored by Lucas and Reece.
The children played two remaining games and we were very unlucky not to have won them.
Overall the children really enjoyed the competition showing great team work and personal skills.

A mixed team from Years 1 and 2 had a wonderful day at the Pentathlon competition.
We took part in a bike, swim and running race as well as a target games and an assault course. It was such a fun and busy day will all the activities we took part in.
The children have never been to a competition before and were so please to represent our school. Well done.

We took two teams to the competition. Both teams did really well and won many of their games they played.
Team B managed to get through to the quarter finals but narrowly missed out on the win.
The children enjoyed the opportunity to play against other schools and look forward to future events.

A mixed group from Years 1 an 2 took part in a range of fun activities that challenged skills such as balance, coordination, agility, targeting, and catching.
We had such a good time. It was the children’s first time going to a school games competition and were very proud to represent our school.

A mixed team from Years 5 and 6 took part in team events such as hurdle and paarlauf relays and the individual events triple jump, chest push, speed bounce and long jump.
The children enjoyed competing against other schools and performed well.
We improved our finishing position from last year taking 6th place overall across the North and South School.

Boys from Key Stage 2 took part in rock climbing, archery, fencing, working out in the gym, boxing and table tennis.
The boxing instructor was so impressed with the attitude and performance of the children that he would like to visit our school soon to deliver a demonstration.

To celebrate women’s football week St Pauls took part in the school games tournament at Wood Green Academy.
It was the first time we have had entered a girl’s football team from Years 5 and 6 into an event.
Our team played four games against other local schools. The team won one, lost two and drew one game.
The girls loved the opportunity to play different positions and some of the girls were awarded player of the match by the opposition. But the excitement didn’t stop there. St Pauls had to take penalties to decide the third place position. Unfortunately it finished 2-5 to the opposition and we took the fourth position.
What a wonderful experience had by all and we look forward to the next tournament.

It was the first year that St Pauls has held a school games event. It was an amazing experience taking part. It was a fun but challenging course around across the grass and playground. We showed great determination and courage.
Years 3 and 4 came runners up in their event. Year 5 and 6 narrowly missed first position by one point finishing as runners up in their event.
A big thank you to the Year 6 Sports Ambassadors that supported leading the event.

It was a wonderful day for all the children and parents.
The children took part in a range of fun races in the morning was Foundation and KS1 event and in the afternoon it was KS2 events.
The children really enjoyed themselves and even encouraged parents to take part in the races.

We were treated to a fantastic judo demonstration by Commonwealth Champion Wayne McDonald.
This was part of our going for Gold, sporting theme work.

What an amazing experience to have Aspire Sports deliver fun and active games for all of our children.
Over two days the children had the opportunity to take part in Olympic and Paralympic events such as shooting, fencing and wheelchair racing.
The children had so much fun and learnt a lot. We would like to thank Aspire Sports for such a lovely few days of sports at St Pauls Academy.

We had a wonderful day with George starting with a morning workshop talking about his career, ambitions and hopes for the future.
Then the children in their classes had the opportunity to work with him engaging in team challenges and inspiring future generations with PowerPoint presentation.

We have never been to the Black Country School Games before and we were really excited to take a team of boys and girls from Years 5 and 6.
We played five matches and did well to score some tries and compete against other schools.
Our highlight of the day was meeting a Paralympian and had our photo taken.
Sandwell won overall and some of us had our picture with the Trophy.

A mixed team from Years 3 and 4 mixed participated in the competition. Due to the very poor weather the outdoor event was played indoors.
We really enjoyed playing matches and scoring points for our teams. We played some very close games and Team A and B did really well.

St Paul's sent a very competitive and enthuasiastic girls' Year 5 and 6 team to represent us at the Kwik Cricket competition just before half term.
We played really well in the group stages and Team B came fourth in the knock out stages. We enjoyed playing as part of a team.

We had a fantastic day playing rugby on a muddy pitch against lots of different schools.
We had two mixed teams from Years 5 and 6 who played really well scoring some great tries in the group stages and managed to get to the knock out stages.
The games became much closer but Team B competed in the final and came in second place. We have also been selected to represent Sandwell in the Black country games.

We took two teams of boys and girls from Years 3 and 4 to the tournament to represent our school.
We played against lots of different school in the group stage and Team A moved forward into the knock out stages where we won the competition.

What an amazing experience. We took a team from Years 4, 5 and 6 to the swimming gala.
We each chose our favourite stroke to swim in the competition as well as took part in the relays.
We took first in the girl’s back crawl, second in the girl’s front crawl, second in the boy’s back crawl, second in the mixed relay and second in the Girls butterfly race.
Our school has never taken part in the gala before and we already looking forward to next years.

We took a team of boys and girls from Years 5 and 6 to Tipton Sports Academy to take part in the Hall Athletics. We were really excited as we hadn’t been before.
We had a lot of fun taking part in different activities and Jack S won Best Boy overall.

19 children from Year 3 and Year 4 entered the Sandwell School Games Cross Country Competition at Oldbury Academy.
St. Paul's was placed in the north section, we ran our cross country race and we all got our different places.
When they announced the winning team for the North section we could not believe it, we were shocked. We all got gold medals for being the winners. Mr Gambon was really proud of us all.

We enjoyed our afternoon outside taking part in the Cross Country competition. Our team raced against lots of other schools and did really well.
In the Year 5 boys race we took third place and in Year 6 boys race we came first and second.
