Event - Safer Internet Day

7 February 2017

We celebrated Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 7th February, with the slogan 'Be the change: Unite for a better internet'.

All of of the classes completed activities in school and at home as well as part of our Learning Log Homework tasks.

We looked at our personal information and who we can share it with. We have learnt not to share our names, addresses and date of birth with strangers as this is our personal information. We also know that pictures can give away a lot of clues about people so it is important to think about what is in a picture especially when this is shared online as it is such a huge public space. To show this we created personal shields that tell you unique information about each of us but does not give away any of our personal information, we even created a secret username for ourselves.

Year 1 discussed those in school who we could speak to if there was a problem with someone who was being unkind to them on the internet. We thought about the safe sites we could visit and the dolphin that is available on screen to cover anything they think is unsuitable for them to see. We explored other places we could go to for help.
